May’s Branch Meeting was held at the Canary Social Club on 9 May 2017 with 33 members attending.
The usual formalities were observed with a minute’s silence for those that have crossed the bar, followed by reports from:
Chairman
On behalf of the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman presented Brian Whileman with his ID Card and RNA Badge.
Continued by hoping that the bucket collection in Diss had been successful; passing his thanks to those who took part and emphasising that wee must take advantage of every offer we receive; hoping that in the future members will make the effort to assist as the money raised is for the benefit of all Branch members.
Commented on the the lunch at the Oaklands Hotel on the 26th April was very well attended and hoped that all those who sat down to lunch enjoyed the occasion, sincerely hoping that the same spirit of comradeship and enjoyment will be shown at the Branch Lunch at Bawburgh Golf Club on the 16th July.
Welfare Secretary
Requested that if any Shipmates are willing to give up a few hours per month say five hours at the reception, then it would be a great help. The Vice-Chairman provided an update, stating that the VC currently had 19 volunteers available to man the front desk and phones, and any help would be most gratefully welcomed.
