Our Branch

The Norwich Branch is one of 300+ branches of the Royal Naval Association in the UK and abroad. It was commissioned in 1979 and today has a membership of just under 90.; and is a registered charity in its own right – the registered Charity Number is 1068699.

We are one of the largest branches in Area 5 which covers East Anglia and our meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Canary Social Club, Rosary Road, Norwich with meetings starting at 1930 hrs.

Attendance at meetings rarely fall below 50 and although we have a majority who are over 65 we also have a nucleus of enthusiastic younger members who are gradually integrating into our Committee bringing new ideas to take the branch forward; our members age span ranging from 22 to 103 years.

The Committee is made up as follows:
President and Vice President
Chairman and Vice Chairman (Both serving 2 years)
Secretary and Treasurer (Both serving 3 years)
All other Committee members (Serving 1 year)

Current holders of these posts can be seen on the website under the heading Branch officials and committee.

We have an active liaison with the Norwich Sea Cadets of the Training Ship Lord Nelson attending several of their events and sponsoring the sea cadet of the year to have actual sea training.

New members, both those who have served with the Royal Navy and any others in sympathy with the objectives of our association are assured of a warm welcome.
