Three of us from Norwich RNA; Pat Whiley, Stuart Fidler and myself, Keith Smith, attended the annual Dunkirk veterans service at St Andrews church Honingham just outside Norwich.
It was as usual a very good service and dignitaries included The Ven. Ian Wheatley (Chaplain of the Fleet and Archdeacon for the Royal Navy). Commodore Graham Little (Royal Navy Assistant Chief of Staff – Engineering support). Brigadier James Woodham (Head of Army Training).
The young were well represented by sea cadets from TS Nelson and a large contingent of police cadets. After the service, all in attendance were invited to the village hall were a buffet was provided by the village. We had quite a long chat with the Chaplain and Brigadier and a few good dits were exchanged.
All in all, a good day
